Mirage - Algonquin

Algonquin documents my first Adirondack high peak summit. As I ascended the 5,114 feet of pure ice over the bare rock face, I was humbled by this uninhabitable, beautiful monster. The summit (and its 40 mph winds) brought me to tears in its desolate perfection. The resulting painting surpasses reality, instead favoring the magic of that climb.  -Julia Hess
